Dichotomous What?
Dichotomous keys are a tool created by scientists to help identify unknown organisms and objects based on their traits. In this class, students will learn techniques to create and use dichotomous keys by identifying anatomical characteristics and creating a series of questions to aid in identification. Depending on the time of year, students will create keys for trees, insects, reptiles or even aquatic creatures, while learning about these organisms in their natural habitats.
