- Grades 2-6 -
Birds and Flight
This class combines general concepts of physics such as lift, force, aerodynamics, control, etc. with an exploration of ornithology on the Penn campus. Students will learn concepts in a classroom setting and then explore the grounds to find birds living in the ecosystem. They will learn about the shape and color of specific bird species, their habitat, and diet, anatomy and more. As students observe birds in their natural habitat, facilitated discussion will guide them through making conclusions based on concepts learned at the beginning of the class.
