Memories from Summer 2007

Over 1300 resident campers enjoyed a week

of summer camp at Betsy-Jeff Penn this

summer.  Young people ate, slept, grew and learned together, having a blast the entire time.

  Don't Just Take Our

Word For It.....

Representatives from the local newspaper,

The Reidsville Review , visited camp for a

week this summer.  They interviewed staff,

talked with campers and took lots of pictures.  The web professionals at the paper then  compiled these snippets of summer camp into

a narrated video.  Check it out here.

Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center provides a variety of camping opportunities for North Carolina youth, ages 6-17. These programs allow campers to grow by challenging themselves, in an environment where they feel safe and accepted.

                                    Residential Summer Camps

Six-Day Residential Programs

for 8-14 Year-olds

Placed in coed activity groups according to age, campers participate in horseback riding, canoeing, archery, climbing, swimming, arts & crafts, cookouts, campfires, nature exploration, teambuilding, high ropes, and much more.  Adventure programs offer older youth opportunities to gain compass, GPS and other outdoor living skills, plus participate in rock climbing, swiftwater canoeing and more.

Environmental Day Camp

 Daily Onsite Sessions

for 6-14 Year-olds

Day Camp is an option for local youth to experience the fun of camp activities Monday thru Friday, while spending each evening and weekend at home.  Each two-week session has a theme, culminating with a corresponding field trip . Activities include swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, archery, arts & crafts, fishing, environmental studies, games and more.

                               Specialty Camps

Cloverbud Camps, Adventure Trips & Other Age-Specific Options

Designed for children who are interested in a summer camp experience, but who may not be served by traditional resident camp.   For campers that are especially young, there is the Cloverbud option.  For older campers who may have "graduated" from several summers of resident camp, there are Adventure Trips and Leader-in-Training programs.
