Retreats & Rentals

The Betsy-Jeff Penn 4H Educational Center provides an ideal retreat space for those groups who are seeking a natural respite from the world.  Retreats may be centered around religious, familial, corporate or professional gatherings.

Modern facilities include two classrooms spaces, a large multipurpose meeting room, a

spacious recreation hall, and all the necessary accoutrements, from tables and chairs to

audio-visual equipment.  Eight heated cabins, with modest, community sleeping spaces, and adequate bathroom space each accommodate up to 24 individuals, for a grand total of

192 beds on site.  Family-style meals in the dining hall assist in creating community amongst retreat-goers.  More importantly, Penn's kitchen staff will satisfy the culinary desires of the group, allowing participants to carry on their own programs and business without concerns for such logistical details.

Pricing worksheets are available for both adult rental groups and youth retreats, to help determine eventual costs for any potential visit.

A campus map and floor plans may also help in planning your event.

We'd love to show you more pictures of happy retreat-goers on site, but we feel it is our job to supply the accommodations and fill a group's needs, rather than stick our nose in their business with cameras, etc.

Of course, some groups want to add a bit of Penn's own programming into their visit.  Most often this is some version of the Soaring Thru Spaces program, including the teambuilding, high ropes and character development challenges.  While most of our efforts in this program are spent with middle school and high school students, it has also been quite successful over the years with numerous collegiate groups and corporate groups.

Collaboration with the newly re-opened Chinqua-Penn Plantation (just over the hill from BJP's campus) can also be arranged in order to more fully meet the needs of your group.  Chinqua-Penn offers both museum tours and further meeting space.
