Environmental Day Camp
Participating campers spend their day enjoying many of the same activities as their resident
camp
counterparts. Rotating from activity to activity, campers swim,
ride horseback, canoe
and explore the natural surroundings of Penn's
campus. They also participate in specialized programs designed
solely for day camp, such as creating their own entrepreneurial
community.
Older campers also participate in team challenges and high ropes
elements. Of course, the day ends at 5:00, at which time campers
return home to their family.

Day Camp
Leadership Adventures
There is now an exciting new day camp
program for 13 & 14 year-old campers. Modeled
after the Leader-In-Training program from previous summers, Leadership
Adventures allows day campers who have been through the program for
several summers to return in a leadership role. During the two week
session, teens
develop awareness of personal responsibility and
leadership skills while
giving some guidance to younger campers.
True Leadership
Day Camp staff are dedicated to carrying out the mission of
Betsy-Jeff Penn. The staff-to-camper ratio is one-to-eight and we
provide 100% supervision for all campers. Staff are highly trained,
energetic and enthusiastic about both program and participants.
Staff members are chosen with an emphasis on experience, attitude and
work ethic, and are hired both
locally and internationally. This diverse and qualified
group also benefits from access to the best
training on youth development techniques and programming
in the state.
Equipment & Food
The Betsy-Jeff Penn 4H Education Center provides all the
specialized equipment needed to canoe, climb, negotiate the ropes
course, ride horseback, camp out and explore the environment.
Day campers need to bring a bag lunch
and snack each day.
